Have you ever wondered …

…why there is a little sparrow in our logo?

Likely not,

. . . but around here it’s a little nod to our Christian faith and the sparrows that God mentions frequently in the Bible as a symbol of deep caring and attention to the needs of His children.

The Gospels of Matthew and Luke … and even the Book of Psalms have verses that mention the lowly sparrow - seemingly the most basic and plentiful of the simple brown birds that fly the skies.

Opening a tiny reporting firm in the big city of Atlanta back in late 2013 was a gamble. How would I find clients? How do I keep clients and grow a business? Where do I start? Will we make it? All of these questions/worries can inspire a mountain of anxiety and stress … FOR SURE!

But God says in his Word …

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on ... look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
— Matthew 6:25-34 NIV

The verse above, from the book of Matthew, was sort of the rock upon which WSG was built - the promise we cling to daily. Have faith, work hard, and TRUST that God is in control!

God has promised to make sure that even the tiniest and most common of birds are taken care of. If He is concerned about the needs of the sparrow, surely He cares for us MUCH more. He knows we have worries and anxiety in this life, but He urges us to put those cares upon Him and trust that we are safe and well loved.

Our job is to trust, trust, trust.

We count you all as blessings and are grateful every single day for your loyalty to our firm ….

Whit
